Those who wear masks hide what lies behind them.
In this game, the opponents hide their true feelings behind a mask of anger.
The protagonist, Ava, is attacked by the masked creatures. She must defend herself and unmask them. This reveals their true selves - fearful, sad, wounded beings who cower and hide.
Ava takes the masks of those she defeats. This gives her abilities, makes her stronger, but also burdens her with their anger, until she is finally overwhelmed by rage.
The game explores how people cross their own boundaries in an attempt to help others.
